A NEW salon in Amersham is set to hold a 'HAIRraising' event on its opening day in aid of charity.
Hob Salons, which launches on Wednesday (24/3) at 34-36 Sycamore Road, is supporting an appeal which encourages the hairdressing community to join forces to help raise £1million for a new operating theatre at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Staff at the salon will be giving up a day's pay to provide some cuts, styles and colourings for half price with all of the proceeds being donated to the charity.
A GROUP of Brownies fell silent in a successful bid to raise funds for a wildlife hospital.
The 28 girls aged between seven and 10 from the 2nd Amersham on the Hill Brownie Group held a sponsored silence in aid of animals cared for at Tiggywinkles.
