A town's pub has joined the crusade of pubs to close in Amersham on the Hill, according to its regulars.

There have been reports that the Pheasant, Plantation Road, Amersham has closed.

The owners, Orchid Brewery have declined to comment.

A regular at the pub, Patrick Arbuthnot of Plantation Road said: "It is an incredibly sad day. About nine of us started coming here when the Red Lion closed down. Hopefully it will be sold to another pub company but I an doubtful."

If you have been affected by this, please ring Laura Mowat on 07795 812 070.

We'd like to hear from you.

Mr Arbuthnot I would kindly suggest that you and the other eight people who started going to The Pheasant when the Red Lion closed down should get together with other locals and put together a business plan to buy and save this hostelry. I would love to see the rot stopped where the erosion of our community facilities is concerned.
