PUPILS at a school got down with a hoedown as they held a charity barn dance last month.

Year 10 students from Amersham's Dr Challoner's Grammar School organised the event at Flexmore Farm in Chalfont St Giles to raise over £3,800 for the Pepper Foundation, which funds home care for seriously ill children in Bucks.

About 200 people attended the event and enjoyed a hog roast and music provided by Blackwood.

Student Tom Garry said: "It was great fun when I gave it a go, and the diverse array of people there actually made it even more entertaining."

Jake Atkinson, whose sister Charlotte is looked after by the Pepper Nurses, said: "It was a fantastic event which raised a lot of money for a good cause. It will make a huge difference to the charity and those they help."

We'd like to hear from you.
