Surgeries open as usual despite national strikes

Posted by Lawrence Poole on Jun 21, 12 10:38 AM in People

IT is business as usual for surgeries across our region today (June 21) despite strikes across the country by members of the British Medical Association over pensions.

Surgeries in Amersham, Little Chalfont and Great Missenden confirmed their doctors were not taking part.

Joyce Hayes, practice manager at Amersham Health Centre, said: "We've put a flyer up for patients which informs them the doctors support the strike action but their issue is with the Government not with their patients - so none of our doctors are on strike."

Bell Lane Dermatology Clinic in Little Chalfont, The Pratice Prospect House and John Hampden Surgery in Great Missenden all confirmed none of their staff were taking part in action.

Little Chalfont Surgery declined to comment on the matter.
