FOR those of you missing your daily festive hit from Radio Christmas, listen up - as it is back.

Amersham's charity festive radio station has been a hit across the town and beyond ever since it first broadcast in 2008 to raise money for central American charity, Street Kids Direct.

The brainchild of Duncan Dyason was supposed to be taking a year off this winter but organisers have decided to broadcast on an online basis only before returning properly in 2012.

The station is able to put out pre-recorded shows at www.radiochristmas.co.uk and through a dedicated app for most mobile smartphones, including iPhone, Android and Windows.

Listeners can enjoy either one of two separate streams throughout December.

One is non-stop Christmas music, the other is highlights from last year's 'live' broadcast together with lots of shows that are being recorded by people from Amersham High Street.

All proceeds through donations and advertising goes directly to projects that help hundreds of children living on the streets of cities in Honduras and Guatemala.

Mr Dyason said: "I am thrilled with the success of the station, we've taken over the old Starbucks site on Sycamore Road.

"In November we were getting 19,000 hits a day on the streaming site and this number will only increase dramatically during December.

"We have a massive worldwide audience now and the iPhone app has helped to increase our presence with 150 people downloading it every day."

Last year's run saw around £20,000 raised for charity and there are already big plans afoot for 2012.

We'd like to hear from you.
