A DRIVER who died in a crash on Monday near Coleshill was named today.
Daniel Coupland, 35, of Browns Road, Holmer Green, was killed when his blue Vauxhall Tigra collided with a red Honda CR-V on the A404 Whielden Lane at around 11pm.
He was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a 66-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
A post mortem concluded Mr Coupland died of multiple injuries. An inquest into the death was opened and adjourned.

YOUNGTERS' creative efforts were awarded when their floral designs were picked to be used as part of Amersham's entry into Britain in Bloom.
Schools in the town were invited to take part in a 'design a flower bed' competition, organised by Amersham Town Council.
The winners were judged by Councillor Ros Aitken, who is a member of the council's Amersham in Bloom committee, park superintendent Mark Richardson and four representatives from the Rotary Club of Amersham.
A MAN has been left dead and another is injured after a car crash in Coleshill last night.
A blue Vauxhall Tigra collided with a red Honda CR-V on the A404 Whielden Lane at around 11pm.
The driver of the Vauxhall, a 35-year-old male, was declared dead at the scene.
Police said the motorist, who has not yet been named, was from the area.
The driver of the Honda, a 66-year-old man also from the area, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital for treatment. He was released by fire crews from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after to the fatal collision.

SWIMMERS in the Chilterns are being challenged to take part in 'the world's biggest swim' to raise funds for a cancer charity.
Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Swimathon Foundation is urging people from the area to make a splash to back the cause at The Chiltern Pools in Amersham-on-the-Hill.
The charity says the event has a challenge to suit everyone with swimmers pledging to complete up to 5K as an individual or as a team with their friends and family. It is set to begin at the pool in April.

A HORSE trader who is appealing against conviction of animal cruelty offences denied allegations that his horses, ponies and donkeys were starving.
James Gray, 46, of Spindles Farm, Chalk Lane, Hyde Heath, told a court the equines, some of which were given a body condition score of 0 out of 5 by vet Katie Robinson, were in 'decent' to 'good' condition and were not 'emaciated' as alleged by the RSPCA.
The farm was the subject of an extensive investigation by the animal charity's inspectors in January 2008 which involved the removal of more than 100 alive equines and more than 30 carcases.
He was convicted of 11 charges under the Animal Welfare Act in May last year.

PARISH councillors in Little Chalfont are considering mounting a leafleting campaign over proposed housing in the village.
Sites to meet the Government's requirement of 2,900 new homes in the Chiltern district by 2026, were named at Donkey Field off Burtons Lane, on land between Loudhams Wood Lane and Village Way and, on land off White Lion Road.
The district council has produced a 'core strategy document' outlining possible sites for development.
Initially 121 dwellings were proposed on Donkey Field but this has since been reduced to 60 on the site. A total of 450 in total are planned for the village,
THE public is being warned to expect delays as work to upgrade a recycling centre gets under way.
Buckinghamshire County Council said a six-week programme of health and safety improvements, which include replacing worn pavements and moving bins, at Amersham Household Waste Recycling Centre, began on Monday.
It hopes it will provide users with better surfaces for traffic and help cut noise levels at the site in London Road East.
The county council has apologised for any delays it says people using the centre may face.
