Man attacked in new year's eve robbery attempt

A MAN who wished a group of men 'a happy new year' in Little Chalfont was attacked in an attempted robbery.
The victim was struck in the face with a wooden object and fell to the floor where he was struck again from behind but managed to hit one of the assailants in the face.
The man had been dropped off in White Lion Road at 10.50pm on New Year's Eve and was approaching a tunnel into Marygold Walk when he greeted three men standing by the entrance as he tried to pass.

A second man jumped on the victim from behind and tried to get his wallet out of his pocket but the man elbowed him. The third member of the gang ran away.
The victim suffered swelling and bruising to an eye.
Police are appealing for witnesses. PC Kerry Hall investigating the incident and is keen to speak to anyone who saw the attack or saw two men who suffered facial injuries on the night, as it is thought one of the men may have a broken nose.
