Village library to become wireless hotspot

THE Community Library in Little Chalfont is set to become the first wireless broadband hotspot in the village.
Visitors from Tuesday (5/1) will be able to access the service on their own laptop computers at the library in Cokes Lane.
Jim Brooks, chairman of the Friends of Little Chalfont Library charity, which formed to save the library from closure and is now run by unpaid volunteers, said:"We already offer free access to the internet via our desktop PCs. This new service will give library visitors the ability to access our broadband network and the internet via their own laptop computers."
He added: "Some people might think that libraries are only about borrowing books and we have an excellent stock but we think providing a range of services is also important, including using modern technology to access information available on the internet. It will be a valuable new service for both local residents and visitors to the area. "

We'd like to hear from you.
