Paws for thought as cat charity launches appeal
AN animal charity has launched its annual Christmas appeal for funds as it shares the story of one cat found dumped on its doorstep in Amersham.
Marjorie Nash Cat Rescue found Daisy left in a box outside the gates of its centre, which keeps its exact location secret following attacks, on October 28.
Cindy Bailey, manager of the Amersham branch who has rehomed more than 130 cats this year, said: "Neighbours said they saw somebody putting her down by the gates. We didn't honestly think she would live the night. The vets, who were horrified at the state she was in, thought she had been sitting in her own urine for days at a a time because she had burns to her paws and bottom. It's very very sad. The vets have done wonders for her and she has had a lot of love and and care.
"It is our aim for Daisy and our other cats and kittens that, once fully fit, and trusting humans again, they can go on to have a normal healthy, happy life with their new owners.
"All this care costs the charity a lot of money and this is where we ask you, the readers, for your kind and loyal support. Any amount of money is most welcome and, if you feel you could adopt, foster or sponsor one of our cats please contact Marjorie."
She added that the charity, which also has another cattery in Chesham Bois, wants to tell the public how they spend their money - on vets fees for treatment and tests for AIDS and leukaemia - and also appealed for people to give the cats a loving home.
Any donations can be sent to Marjorie Nash Cat Rescue, 31 Snowdrop Way, Widmer End, High Wycombe, HP15 6BL or by calling 01494 715345.
We'd like to hear from you. Send your stories, pics and videos
