Young cooks star in TV show

THE presenter of a new children's cookery programme visited Winchmore Hill to thank the children who helped to make it happen.
Katy Ashworth and her guitar made a trip to The Purple Kitchen in the Memorial Hall on Friday to thank its founders Sally Brown and Kate Morris, who helped to devise the BBC CBeebies I Can Cook series, as well as the 15 young students who attend to learn to cook and took part.

In each programme, Katy welcomes five children into the I Can Cook kitchen to create a recipe of the day. Together they explore where the ingredients come from and how foods are made as well as learning some simple kitchen and cookery skills.
The 26-episode programme came about after Sally Brown and Kate Morris both from Beaconsfield, decided to take their cooking school, where children from as young as two attend with a parent to learn about healthy eating and cooking, to the small screen.
Ms Ashworth showed her appreciation to them by starting a sing-a-long to celebrate the new show, which started on Monday.

We'd like to hear from you.
