Hunt for next Jamie Oliver begins

A HUNT for the next Nigella Lawson or Jamie Oliver is underway with the aim of discovering the best young chef from Amersham.
Youngsters are being urged to put their palates to the test by applying to take part in The Rotary Young Chef Compeition 2010.

Creative 11 to 17-year-olds with a passion for cooking are invited to show off their culinary skills in the contest organised by the Rotary Club of Amersham.
The branch holds the annual event, part of a national contest which is run in conjunction with Olive Oil manufacturer Filippo Berio, to teach young people the importance of healthy eating and to showcase their talents.
Derek Bryant, President of the Rotary Club of Amersham said: "Rotary Young Chef is aimed at anyone who enjoys cooking or who just wants to have a go - it's not just for experienced young cooks. It's a wonderfully enjoyable competition and a chance for young people to get creative and have some fun with food.
"This is just one of the many youth opportunity projects Rotary runs which help to encourage and promote young people's achievements and interests. Who knows, we could discover the next Nigella Lawson or Jamie Oliver."
The winner will go head-to-head with fellow successful chefs from the 200 compeitions nationwide and will compete in a regional heat to try to claim a place in the grand final in April.
