Company's purrfect result for film maker's feline dream

AN AMERSHAM company has made a budding film maker's dream come true by helping him produce a film about his beloved pet.
Incentive company and motivation agency AYMTM, based in Anglo Office Park in White Lion Road provides businesses with programmes to award their staff.
But one different idea for a reward caught the company's eye and involved the creation of a film about a rescue cat, which has since captured the hearts of the public and was shown at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

Customer services worker Martin Humphreys put forward his ambition to make a film about how his cat, Midge, would race him to his local shop every day. The faster Martin ran, the one-eyed cat ran faster, and would never let him pass.
Their regular races began after Midge, 12, began following him to his local shop and waiting outside on a wall, ready to race her master home.
These episodes inspired Mr Humphreys, of Wrose, West Yorkshire, to ask to make a film, The Great Race, about Midge.
AYMTM business development manager, Lynn Jarvis, said the company helped to put Mr Humphreys in touch with film making companies to allow him to realise the dream by creating a script and filming it.
She said: "It's quite an unusual request. It is the first time we had done something so broad with no limitations, other than the limitations of the imagination. We are happy with it and Martin is particularly happy and would like to develop it into a feature film."
Rachel Buller, account director at the company, added: "Making the story of Midge the Cat is something about which the incentive industry should be proud. Beyond a holiday or reward, our industry has the potential to make life-changing events if people are given the flexibility and motivation to make it happen. We're delighted at the way this has turned out for Martin Humphreys, especially since he now has Hollywood in sight."
