Burglars go on 24 hour Amersham spree
A MERCEDES Benz, jewellery, a laptop and phones were some of items stolen in a spate of burglaries in Amersham last week.
At 2.40pm on Friday (18/9) the owner of a maroon Mercedes A class was changing a light bulb in his car when he stopped to talk to neighbour in Chenies Avenue, Little Chalfont.
The keys were left in the ignition and a opportunist thief jumped into the car and drove off.
He is described as between 30 and 40 years, medium build, about 5ft 8ins tall and was wearing a baseball cap, light combat trousers and a striped top.
Between 8.30am and 4pm the same day burglars broke a pane of glass at a property in Pineapple Road, Amersham, and stole laptops, an Ipod and phones.
Overnight a blue Diamond Back bicycle was stolen from a property in White Lion Road and burglars struck again in Pineapple Road at 4am when they stole two black plastic sacks from an insecure porch and at 4.15am when a homeowner disturbed burglars trying to dismantle a television.
Anyone with any information should call police on 0845 8 505 505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
