Joy for Dr Challoner's High School girls

GIRLS at Dr Challoner's High School were jumping for joy as they discovered the outcome of their efforts in their GCSEs.
A flawless 100 per cent of the pupils scooped at least five A* to C grades at the single-sex grammar school. A total of 78.59 per cent of grades were A* or A with nine girls achieving all A* grades at the Cokes Lane School, in Little Chalfont.

All 40 students who took GCSE religious studies gained at least an A grade and all 17 physical education pupils had the same good luck.
Lizzie Elliott, of Great Kingshill, achieved an A*, eight As and one B in her results. It will be a n extra special present for the student who was due to celebrate her 16th birthday the following Saturday. She said: "I felt very sick on the way here. My secret is the power of prayer and having lucky socks and pants."
Her proud mum Catherine Elliott said: "She has done so well, I am really pleased for her. It has been tense for the last eight weeks. For her it will be a double celebration with her birthday."
Emily Rogers, 16, of Little Chalfont, said: "I got eight A*s and two As. They were really hard I am really surprised I was quite worried about the exams. As it got closer I remembered all the bad stuff in them. My mum is always saying it's too easy. I would say they are not getting easier. We are just revising the stuff we are taught."
Headteacher Peg Hulse said: "After another year of wonderful results, I would like to congratulate all our pupils and their teachers on their commitment and hard work. Our girls have done exceptionally well and have achieved some personal successes which is a great testament to their determination."

We'd like to hear from you.
