A SERIAL burglar has been jailed for four years after he was caught driving a car stolen during an Amersham theft.
Patrick Rooney, 24, from Rickmansworth, was arrested in October last year after Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) equipment clocked him driving a stolen blue Audi from an Amersham home.
In April 2009 he admitted a further 20 offences of burglary committed within Hertfordshire, Thames Valley, and London.

On Friday, June 5 he was found guilty to 23 counts of burglary, 13 counts of distraction burglary, theft from a vehicle, driving whilst disqualified and having no insurance at St Albans Crown Court.
Detective Constable Kelly Adams, of Herts Police who led the operation, said: "The victims of this man's crimes can be assured that this man has been given a suitable custodial sentence and we will do all in our power to catch similar people who feel it is acceptable to con the most vulnerable people in our community."
Anyone with any information about a crime should call police on 0845 8 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
