Radio Christmas reunion
A Radio Christmas reunion on Saturday at Cafe Africa in Amersham attracted more than 50 supporters.
Musical entertainment was provided by talented singer-songwriter William Dawson-Pick, a pupil at Dr Challoner's Grammar School.
A Radio Christmas website will be launched towards the end of the summer featuring highlights of the radio station's 380 hour programme which was held over 24 days.
More than 200 people took part in the charity initiative, which yielded a total of £16,100 for the charity Street Kids Direct, which helps homeless youngsters in Guatemala and Honduras.
Duncan Dyason, the driving force behind Street Kids and Radio Christmas, has pledged to reinstate the station for Christmas 2010.
This year a Radio Africa radio station will be featured in Amersham but for a limited period, December 23 and 24, with funds being raised for a number of Continent-based causes.
Mr Dyason said the money raised by Radio Christmas had been allocated to two causes; the AFE Project in Honduras, and for the well-being of street children generally.
"I was really pleased about the turnout on Saturday and we rejoiced together about the future of Radio Christmas," said Mr Dyason.
