Charity carol singing
Charities which serve the people of Chiltern District benefited from the proceeds of a Christmas carol service at GE Healthcare's Pollards Wood base in Little Chalfont.
A total of 150 people enjoyed mince pies, hot chocolate, and mulled wine, and then they sat back and listened to some wonderful music.
Providing the tunes were the brass band from Dr Challoner's Grammar School - led by Graham Hollingdale - and The Amersham School's choir.
The charities being backed by GE, to the tune of £8,500 each, were: The Hospice of St Francis, The Pace Centre in Aylesbury, The National Society for Epilepsy, and the Chiltern MS Centre, based at Halton, causes which have enjoyed unswerving support from GE for the past four years.
Employees provided £3,500 towards each donation with the company chipping in the rest of the cash from its own coffers.
GE also supports Dr Challoner's and The Amersham School, because Challoner's is a specialist science educational establishment and Amersham has opted to prioritise business as part of its core curriculum.
Spokeswoman Lynn Johnson said: "Everyone had a lovely time and the music was absolutely wonderful, it is great that the charities received a good boost."
