The next meeting of Little Chalfont Parish Council's planning committee will be held at the library in Cokes Lane.
The gathering will take place on Tuesday, February 24, at 7.30pm.
Clerk Janet Mason said members of the general public were welcome to attend.

River Misbourne talk lined up

The chairman of the Chiltern Society will be the keynote speaker at the Amersham Town meeting on Monday, March 9, at 7.30pm.
John Taylor will talk about the River Misbourne.
Townsfolk will receive an annual report from town mayor Councillor Martin King.
The meeting will be held in the Market Hall in the Old Town.

Pupils battle to save art campus

22691603 Am-&-Wyc-College.jpgStudents at Amersham and Wycombe College are campaigning to save an art shop threatened with closure.
The Art Van Go has been told it must vacate its space at the campus in Stanley Haill, Amersham by March 30 because of the possible redevelopment of the site.
One former student who completed the fine art practice course said: "This will be a very significant handicap for the students who attend the excellent and high standard art courses at the college, along with many other courses."
The shop provides essentials materials for a cheap price.
It will be possible to save the shop if someone can fund a pre-fabricated building to be used within the college campus.
All comments must be sent to the college by February 6.

Possible end to council dispute

Representatives of Little Chalfont Parish Council and Amersham Town Council are inching their way towards a final settlement cash payout.
The two authorities have been at variance about cash for a number of months as negotiations have dragged on. The cash payout was sought by Little Chalfont after it broke away from Amersham in May 2007.

Am-Elangeni-Talent.jpgPupils displayed more then the usual reading, writing and 'rithmetic skills when they performed in a talent show.
Elengani School in Woodside Avenue, Amersham became the stage for the show last Friday after year six pupils decided to organise the event.
It was held to raise money for Cancer Research and students pulled out stunning gymnastic displays and amusing sketches to make their peers laugh.

Firefighter recruitment drive

Bucks Fire & Rescue Service has launched a recruitment drive for retained firefighters in Chesham and Amersham.
Mick Martin, area manager response, said: "In Buckinghamshire, part-time firefighters mainly provide cover in rural areas, but there are units located in the busier urban areas to provide fire cover alongside wholetime colleagues."

Saturday car boot sale

Entrance is 30p and there will be refreshments.

Amersham Society enlist art expert

Art expert Trevor Richardson will present a lecture about the English countryside in February.
The evening, organised by the Amersham Society, will take place at the Market Hall, in the Old Town, on Wednesday, February 25, at 8pm.

Parking victory toasted

22801272 Jennifer-Parking.jpgA woman is celebrating after winning a three month parking wrangle with Chiltern District Council.
Jubilant Jennifer Shaw, 56, of Oakview, Hyde Heath, has battled hard to win the backing of parking adjudicator Toby Halliwell after her daughter Alison was penalised when a parking ticket fell from the dashboard to the floor last October.
When Alison pleaded with the council for the parking penalty to be withdrawn she was informed that the council would be sticking to its no concessions policy.
