Purse snatchers arrested

22075361 TVP.jpgTwo Bulgarian women have been arrested following a spate of purse-snatching incidents in Amersham over the past fortnight.
PC Mark Turner confirmed that two Bulgarian women from London, in their early twenties, were arrested on November 11, after a shop assistant from Terry's newsagents in Sycamore Road recognised a woman whom he suspected of being a suspect in a previous purse theft.

He said: "This is an example of really good co-operation between the police and local shopkeepers. There were a few incidents of purse-dipping over the past few weeks and we told shopkeepers to be on the look out. Hopefully the matter has been resolved now."
PC Turner said that the two women have been released on bail pending further enquries and warned shoppers to be particularly vigilant on market day.
