Scout group wins competition
An Amersham scout group has fended off a strong challenge from five other troops to win the annual Bridge the Misbourne competition.
The winners were the Trailblazers Explorer Scout Unit attached to the Scout Group in Rectory Hill, Amersham.
This is an annual contest which tests the pioneering skills of those taking part and requires scouts to show versatility when it comes to competence with knots, lashings, and problem solving..
The bridges are built to a set design by the competing boy's and girl's whose ages range from 11 to 18. The bridges are judged by the stability of their construction, tidiness and use of correct anchorages.
Acting as judge is Robbie Robinson an instructor with The Royal Engineers, based at Aldershot. He is a rgular visitor to the Misbourne Valley.
Organiser-leader Martin Game said he was again delighted with the high standard of competition
