Hoisting the Olympic flag in Amersham

Olympics-flag.jpg2012 Olympic hopefuls Lucas Kuhlmey and Josh Radvan helped Chiltern District Council to raise their Olympic flag last week where it will stay until the start of the 2012 Games.

The Olympic handover flag will be one of 500 flags flying across the country on public buildings such as HM Armed Forces, Town Halls and council offices.

Lucas is the National Under 20s fencing champion and he lives in Amersham and Josh is the, National Under -17s Modern Pentathlon champion and he lives in Knotty Green.

Councillor Mimi Harker, Cabinet Member with responsibility for sports, said: "We are hoping that the 2012 Olympics Games will inspire young people to get involved in sports and physical activity and more importantly, have fun whilst doing it."
