This year's Charter Fair in Old Amersham was an outstanding success, according to town mayor Martin King.
In previous years the fair has often been a focus for anti-social behaviour.

But, this time out, a discreet police presence kept prospective troublemakers at bay.
Hundreds of visitors enjoyed all the fun of the fair on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Mr King has written to Thames Valley Chief Constable Sarah Thornton congratulating her on a superb policing effort.
"The fair was run by Irvin's Amusements of South Ockenden and they were lovely people who were a delight to talk to, " he said.
"It was the busiest weekend of the year in the Old Town and the weather was superb. There was not one untoward incident, it was a superb weekend at the fair."
Mr King reported that the fair took up the whole of the High Street. There were a variety of entertainments including waltzers and roundabouts, he said.
